Warranty & Workmanship Guarantee
Every job we perform is backed by a written warranty. If something isn't right, we come back and make it right. No excuses, no runaround.
What's Covered
- Workmanship, 1 full year. If our work does not meet the specifications in your written quote, we return and correct it at no charge.
- Stump grinding depth. Every stump is ground to the depth written on your quote (typically 6 to 8 inches below grade). If a stump settles or a root flare surfaces in a way we missed, we come back and grind it again.
- Cleanup. We haul away chips, brush, and debris generated by our work. If you find something we left behind, call us and we return within 48 hours to clear it.
- Cutting accuracy. Trimming and removal cuts are made to the branch collar per ANSI A300 standards. If a cut is incorrectly placed, we return to correct it.
- Property protection. We protect turf, driveways, and landscaping with mats and tarps. Incidental damage caused by our crew or equipment is repaired at our cost.
- Punctuality. If we are more than 60 minutes late for a scheduled appointment without notice, we take $50 off your invoice.
What's Not Covered
Our warranty applies to the specific work we performed under a written quote. It does not cover:
- Damage caused by storms, high winds, animals, other tree companies, or any third party after our work is complete.
- New tree growth, sucker regrowth, or seed germination from surrounding trees. Trimming and grinding do not prevent future biological activity on your property.
- Underground utilities, sprinkler lines, invisible fencing, or other private infrastructure that was not marked before we started. You are responsible for locating and marking private utilities on your property. We call 811 for public utility locates when legally required.
- Pre-existing damage to structures, fences, walkways, or landscaping documented on the quote sheet before work begins.
- Decline or death of neighboring trees unrelated to the work described in your quote.
- Work performed or altered by other contractors after our crew has left the site.
- Acts of God, including wildfire, flood, hail, or lightning.
Stump Grinding Settlement
Ground stumps can settle as chips decompose over the first 6 to 12 months, creating a small depression. This is normal and is not a defect. However, if the settlement exposes a stump disc, a live root flare, or a surface root we missed, we return and grind it again under warranty at no charge.
If you plan to seed, sod, or plant over a ground stump, we recommend hauling chips out and backfilling with fresh topsoil. Ask us for this option when booking and we include it in the quote.
Tree Trimming and Pruning
We follow ANSI A300 pruning standards on every trim. We do not top trees, and we do not remove more than 25 percent of a tree's live canopy in a single session. If cuts were made outside these standards by our crew, we return to correct what can be corrected. We cannot restore growth that was removed.
Insurance
We carry commercial general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage on every job. A certificate of insurance is available on request. Our insurance is separate from our warranty and applies to property damage and bodily injury caused during the performance of our work.
How to Make a Claim
We want to hear from you while an issue is fresh. The faster you reach out, the faster we can send a crew back.
- Contact us within the warranty period. Workmanship claims must be submitted within 1 year of completion. Cleanup claims must be submitted within 7 days.
- Send photos and a short description. Email sales@treestumpbros.com or text (720) 487-6099. Include your original invoice number if you have it.
- We respond within 24 hours. We confirm receipt and schedule a free site visit if needed.
- We correct or compensate. For covered issues we return and correct the work. For minor items we may offer a credit on a future job. For insurance-level damage we coordinate with our carrier.
Customer Responsibilities
Our warranty relies on you giving us a fair shot at the work. That means:
- Marking sprinkler lines, invisible fences, low-voltage wiring, and other private utilities before work begins.
- Keeping pets indoors and vehicles clear of the work area.
- Reviewing and signing the written quote before we start. Verbal changes are not covered unless recorded in writing.
- Paying on completion per the terms of your quote. Unpaid balances over 30 days suspend warranty coverage until paid in full.
Transferability
The workmanship warranty stays with the property for the full 1-year term. If you sell the property, the new owner inherits the remaining coverage. We just need the original invoice number and the new owner's contact info to honor it.
Limitation of Liability
Our total liability under this warranty for any single job is limited to the amount you paid for that job. This warranty is in addition to, not in place of, your rights under Colorado law. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for the full legal framework.
